WhO and WHY?

My name is Rick and I welcome you to Brandjams. We focus on start up brand and small to medium business wanting to create or refresh their brand.

Brandjams is also a part of The Jam Jar advertising agency in Subiaco, Western Australia who do everything you can ever need from an ad agency.

Our job is to really understand where YOU are coming from. If you are committed to creating a professional, purpose driven business with a defined target market, then this process will be very powerful for your business but also you personally, as a leader.   

Too many people are followers, not leaders. We believe in trusting your instincts and following your passion. My personal journey has seen me go from US college tennis player to marketing dropout before turning to become tennis coach and then business owner. Now I work in a team to help others trust their gut, follow the entrepreneurship path and create a strong brand from the beginning.

Brandjams and The Jam Jar think a bit differently. Why? Because we believe something is missing in 'usual' advertising. That thing is Values. Yes Values. We believe humans are moral, not simply rational. We believe we're all making WHY and WHAT based
decisions all the time. It's not just about features and benefits, that's old school. It's about standing for something, owning a Value. 

We normally meet for a coffee on our couches at Olive St, Subiaco.

 

 
RICK WILLSMORE - BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR  Rick's life journey has been spent as an elite tennis player and coach and also as entrepreneur, starting and running several businesses over the years. He deeply believes in people trusting their instincts and living life on their own terms. This means that if you have an inkling, you SHOULD start your own business and follow the entrepreneur path. Rick has combined 17 years of street smart business lessons with a thirst for self education, particularly in the areas of personal development, performance, marketing, brand and human behaviour.  Rick's role is to sit down with you and find out everything about your dreams, problems and reason for being in business. What is working well for you and what needs to be overhauled? Rick's 'outside the square' thinking and skill for understanding other people motivations provides the perfect launchpad for you to create or refresh your brand. Rick may swing out to your business to get a feel for your current brand or just sit down for coffee on the couch and talk shop.

SIMON HART - CAMPAIGN DIRECTOR  Simon is The Jam Jars’ strategic thinker. His focus is understanding the factors that motivate people into acting as they do. Simon believes humans have more in common than they do different, which leads us to create powerful messages that have broad appeal, rather than narrow messages for the market to miss.  At The Jam Jar, Simon’s role is to move you from a product to a brand. He does this by: Uncovering your strategic + competitive market position + Identifying a key value to anchor your business + Understanding your customers priorities and the ways they think + Translate this into meaningful ways to demonstrate why your business is a more compelling choice for both your customers, and non-customers.  Simon is the why and the how in our business. He believes in the powerful impact of demonstrating, rather than telling. His focus is to create more meaningful purposeful connections resisting the flow of meaningless clutter that often fills the world today. He has an M.A (Hons.) in Media & Communications and has worked in PR and Radio across his career.

He has an M.A (Hons.) in Media & Communications and has worked in PR and Radio across his career.

 
NIGEL MOYES - BRAND DIRECTOR  Nigel is The Jam Jars’ Brand Director. He’s all about the importance of brand as a visual look and how that translates and impacts the end users’ perception of your business. His eye for contemporary design and his big picture vision are a valuable asset as he has a strong end goal in clear focus.  At The Jam Jar, Nigel’s role is to clarify and direct the development of your visual identity. Nigel’s focus is on: Creating a logo and visual language that is both beautiful + impactful + The development of your business collateral to take to market + The development and management of your media campaigns, both on and offline + Constructing an online presence that creates emotion in your end user as well as click throughs for your business.  Nigel is the what and the how in our business. Nigel believes in the power of beautiful, and its’ ability to have a powerful positive impact on people. His media experience spans over 25 years, firstly working in radio with Southern Cross Broadcasting and then Austereo before moving into the agency world 15 years ago. He is also an accredited AIPP landscape photographer.
